Every software provider out there is trying to create something unique so as to attract the widest audience possible. For example, BTG did well with the Megaways mechanics. The good people of Quickspin turned to Power Glyph, a mechanic that was first used in Golden Glyph.

Being a huge success, Quickspin implemented the mechanics in other games, such as Ghost Glyph, Golden Glyph 2, and Warp Wreckers Power Glyph. By describing the three most popular Power Glyph video slots, we will tell you more about the popular mechanism.

1. Golden Glyph

Everything started with Golden Glyph, a medium volatility game that benefits from 7 reels and cluster pays. With an RTP of 96.19%, this visually impressive video slot offers a max payout of 13,185x the bet. The land of the pharaohs is waiting for you, so put your explorer outfits on and try to decode the hieroglyphs and reveal your fortune.

To start winning payouts, players need to land clusters of five or more matching icons. When a win occurs, winning symbols are destroyed and a Power Wild spawns inside a winning cluster. Thanks to tumbling reels, winning icons are destroyed and new symbols appear on the grid. If the Power Wild is connected to a winning cluster in the following tumble, it will activate one of the Power-Ups.

If you activate the Golden Scarab, it will spread and place 4-10 random Wilds. Blaze of Fire will be placed in a random position on the reels and will burn all symbols in its reel and row, delivering payouts for all destroyed icons. The Eye of Horus will randomly select an icon on the reels and deliver payouts for all visible instances of the selected icon.

Now, Power-Ups continue to trigger until you form winning clusters. When you reach the Bonus Power Up, it means that you trigger the Free Spins feature. Spinners get 9 free spins initially, with 3 extra freebies for every time you trigger the Bonus Power Up within the feature.

At the beginning of the feature, the special Golden Glyph Wild appears in a random position. With every free spin, this special Wild moves to a different position. It also comes with a multiplier that goes up by 1x every time it is part of a winning cluster. The multiplier can go up to 99x.

2. Golden Glyph 2

The sequel brought us a somewhat lower RTP (96.09%), but a bigger max payout, set at 26,800x the bet. The volatility of the game is also different. This time, we have a highly volatile video slot on our hands. The location where the action takes place remained the same, so we are back in the land of the pharaohs. Tutankhamun, Cleopatra, and Hours are waiting for you in another action-packed video slot.

The background is changed. The reels are placed in a golden frame, set between two ancient stone pillars, at the very entrance of a lost temple. Your only companion in the desert is a local guide, but he will not help you much when it comes to landing wins.

The system of the Quickspin title remained pretty much the same. Players need to form clusters of 5 or more matching symbols, vertically or horizontally connected. A winning cluster will destroy the winning symbol but will leave a Power Glyph Wild behind. The reels will then tumble and add new icons on the screen.

There has been some innovation in the Power-Ups. When the Power Glyph Wild is part of a winning cluster, it will activate one of the Power-Ups. The Golden Scarab will add 4-11 Wilds on random positions. The Gigantic Wild will place a 2×3 Wild on the grid.

Finally, there is the Patterns of Hours Power Up. The patterns destroy symbols in a pattern. There are 6 different patterns: Cross, Ankh, Bird, Eye, Hourglass, and Snake. When the symbols from the pattern are removed, a tumble occurs and new icons appear in vacant positions.

You need 3 Pyramid Scatters on the reels to trigger the Free Spins feature. They will get you 7 free spins. In the beginning, a Golden Glyph Wild is added on the reels and it sticks around throughout the feature, switching positions. Every time it is a part of a win, it will increase its win multiplier, up to 50x. Up to 4 Golden Glyph Wilds can appear on the reels during the feature. If all of them are a part of the same winning cluster, their multipliers are combined.

3. Warp Wreckers Power Glyph

After spending time in Ancient Egypt, prepare yourselves for an exciting voyage to a galaxy far away, where a group of scientists is creating robots for the astrocalypse. Quickspin decided to completely change the scenery in their newest Power Glyph video slot, by placing the reels on an unknown planet.

Another high volatility game comes with an RTP of 96.29% and offers a max win of 4,500x the bet per spin. Warp Wreckers Power Glyph is played on 5 reels and 5 rows. To win payouts, land 3 or more matching icons that are connected either vertically or horizontally. When that happens, the winning symbols are destroyed, only this time new symbols do not appear to fill the blank positions.

If you land wins with 3 or 5 high-value Robot icons, you form a Power Glyph Wild. If you land wins with 3 or 5 low-paying Crystal icons, you form a regular Wild. Again, if the Power Glyph Wild forms a win, it activates one of the Power-Ups from the Power Stack. When all wins are collected, the activated Power-Ups come into action.

The Transformer selects a random icon on the grid and transforms all its visible instances into another symbol. the Eraser will select a random type of symbol and erase all its instances from the grid. The Warper turns random icons into Wilds. The Bomber drops new Wilds on random available positions.

If you clear the grid from all regular icons (Wilds and Power Glyph Wilds excluded), you trigger 6 free spins. If you manage to repeat that during the feature, you get 3 extra freebies. Apart from the other Power Ups, another is added, called the Destroyer. It awards an extra free spin with a 2×2 Wild.

Now, after every win in the base game and during free spins increases the win multiplier. The active win multiplier from the base game is carried over to the free spins feature. In the base game, the win multiplier resets after a non-winning spin, which is not the case with the Free Spins feature.
