Following the success of Jackpot King and WowPot, Big Time Gaming recently released a new progressive jackpot mechanism called Megapays. Big Time Gaming is one of the leading innovators in the iGaming industry, recording amazing success with their Megaways and Megaclusters mechanics.

Now is the time for them to enter the world of progressive jackpots, and we do not doubt that BTG will be successful once again. The Megapays global jackpot system is done through cooperation with Relax Gaming, the iGaming aggregator and supplier of unique content.

Thanks to this successful collaboration, plenty of classic titles and new video slots will be included in the Megapays progressive jackpot system. The first game that offers the new mechanism is Bonanza Megapays, and it is receiving loads of praise across the globe as we speak.

How Does Megapays Function?

To be completely honest, the Megapays system will remind you of Microgaming’s WowPot, or Blueprint Gaming’s Jackpot King, because the systems are quite similar. There will be a number of video slots included in one progressive jackpot network, and every bet placed on any of the Megapays video slots anywhere across the globe will contribute to the mutual progressive jackpot, it’s as simple as that.

We will try to explain the mechanics by using the example of Bonanza Megapays. On top of the reels, players will be able to see the four progressive jackpots available – Mini, Midi, Major, and Mega, and their current values. Another aspect that you need to consider here is the RTP of the game.

For example, if the RTP in the game is 96.6%, the jackpot values will take away 9.6% of the entire RTP in that particular video slot. This means that, in reality, the game in question offers an RTP of 87.00%. We are all aware of the fact that most of the progressive jackpot games come with a slightly lower return to player, so this should not be an issue here.

Megapays Is Triggered Randomly

Like many other progressive jackpots, Megapays is triggered randomly, and it can occur on any spin. Even so, there are several rules you need to remember here. The word Megapays is placed under the logo of the game, and on top of the reels, and you can see it as you play. The letters from the word appear on the reels on certain spins, and they can be colored in pink.

From time to time, some of the letters will be pink, and on some occasions, none of the landed letters will be pink. For the Megapays jackpot feature to be triggered, all letters in the word need to be pink. This will allow you to enter the next stage of the progressive jackpot phase.

Now, before the spinning starts, one of the low-paying playing cards will be randomly selected to be the special Jackpot symbol during the feature. This icon is particularly important for you because the number of landed symbols will determine which of the four jackpots you get.

Players get a jackpot reel set and start spinning the reels. Every time you land at least one Megapays Jackpot Symbol, you get a new spin on the jackpot reel set. The goal is to land as many icons as you can. On the left side of the screen, you will find a Jackpot Meter, and here you follow your progress. Every symbol you land fills one field on the meter. As you progress, the meter goes higher.

The feature ends when you stop landing new jackpot symbols, or when you reach the Mega Progressive Jackpot, whichever comes first. Land between 4 and 7 jackpot symbols, and you will win the Mini Progressive Jackpot. For Midi Progressive Jackpot, you need 8-11 jackpot symbols. Get 12-14 jackpot symbols on the board, and pocket the Major Progressive Jackpot.

The luckiest among you will go home with the Mega Progressive Jackpot, but first, they need to collect 15 or more jackpot symbols on the Jackpot Meter.

How Megapays Affects WowPot?

What we are witnessing here is the actual clash of titans. After Mega Moolah, Microgaming decided it was time to go one step further, thus introducing WowPot Jackpot, which immediately proved to be a huge success. Now, BTG’s extremely popular Megaways and Megaclusters game mechanics will be even more attractive once the Megapays jackpot system gets introduced.

As we have already said, Bonanza Megapays is the first of many BTG games to be included in the new jackpot network and is already proving to be popular, getting praise from all over the world. It is most likely that Megapays will affect the popularity of WowPot, and that there will be gamers who will switch sides, simply because they prefer Big Time Gaming products, which are, to be completely honest, awesome.

We think time will tell whether Megapays will take over the throne of progressive jackpots networks. What we do know for sure is that Microgaming and Blueprint Gaming, with their Jackpot King, will not surrender without a fight. This only means that players will get more and more attractive titles and new mechanisms, which will only benefit the iGaming industry. That is why we hope this clash of the titans will be a long and fruitful one.
